Price and Running Costs

Vauxhall has addressed consumer criticisms and lowered the price of the Corsa model by £2500, making it more affordable, and in-line with its closest competitors the VW Polo and the Ford Fiesta. The new engine range has decreased running costs and also improved fuel efficiency, making it a more eco-friendly car to drive. The most efficient engine is the 1.3 litre CTDI diesel, which has low CO2 emissions (making the car free to tax), and a whopping 76.3mpg. It’s also a solid choice for young drivers due to its cheap insurance.

Safety and Reliability

The Vauxhall Corsa comes with a standard three year/60,000 mile warranty which is transferable between owners. The reliability of the car is currently unknown, with the engines being new, however Vauxhall do have garages all over the country which should help to keep minds at rest. Again, although the Corsa has not yet been crash tested, the new model comes with more safety features than ever before, so it should perform well like previous models have done.

Interior and Specs

The Corsa’s interior is one of the best in its class. It’s comfortable to drive, and deals well with rough road surfaces (it was specifically designed to cope with the UK’s roads). The standard features on the car are above average, with even the most basic cars having a USB port, cruise control, a multi-functional steering wheel, and daytime lights as standard. A selection of option packs can also be added onto most models.

Practicality

The five doorCorsa has more space than the three door, however it’s not something that you’ll notice whilst driving as both versions have the same amount of space up front. There is plenty of room for five adults in both cars, though the five door does feel more spacious and comfortable for people in the back seat. When compared to its rivals, the Corsa does have an above average boot, and you can also fold down the rear seats to create more room when needed. In addition, the boot has a false floor so you can hide things underneath it if required. Vauxhall also offers integrated cycle racks and tow bars as additional extras.

The Vauxhall Corsa is an affordable car that more than keeps up with its competitors. It’s spacious, comfortable to drive, and can be easily accessorised before purchase. Available in a variety of trims and engine sizes, every type of driver will find a Corsa that meets their needs.
