With the Genesis Sedan heating up the luxury car market in Australia, we decided to take a closer look at everything this sleek sedan has to offer:

  1. Specification levels

Rolling into Australian dealerships in November 2014 with a competitive starting price of just $60,000 and three different specification levels – Genesis, Sensory Pack and Ultimate Pack – the Hyundai Genesis Sedan offers great value for money.

With the base model Genesis alone you’ll get advanced technology including a push button start, LED daytime running lamps, a rear view camera, satellite navigation and heated front seats (the list goes on!).

Climb up to the mid spec Sensory Pack and you won’t be disappointed, as the features get even better – offering an around view monitor, driver’s seat memory, power tilt and telescopic steering, plus LED front fog lamps.

And as the name suggests the top spec Ultimate pack provides the ultimate features, such as a panorama glass roof, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and 19 inch alloy wheels.

  1. Design

Of course a luxury sedan needs more than just standout features and that’s why Hyundai have worked hard to provide a vehicle with both advanced technology and good looks to match.

Sleek is one word to describe the Genesis Sedan and dynamic is another, as the South Korean motoring brand has used its nature inspired design philosophy “Fluidic Sculpture 2.0” to launch a vehicle that stands out at the traffic lights.

Just take a look at the front of the Genesis Sedan with the powerful hexagonal front grille flanked by two slanting headlights and stroll around to the side of the car and you’ll find a sporty side profile with attractive alloy wheels.

Once you slip inside the Hyundai Genesis Sedan the design continues to shine, as its spacious cabin interior, soft touch materials, wood effect finish and aluminium details present an intuitive layout.

  1. Performance

Aussies looking for a car that ticks the boxes when it comes to topnotch features, superb design and advanced technology should look no further, as Hyundai carried out high-speed and durability testing in the world famous Nurburgring, in Germany, as well as testing for Australian conditions in Eastern and Central Australia.

A closer look at the engine specs is sure to impress, as the Hyundai Genesis Sedan comes with a mighty 3.8 litre V6 petrol engine with 232 kilowatts of power and 397 newton metres of torque, matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC manual shift capabilities and paddle shifters for a sportier drive.

  1. Safety

You can also hit the road with the peace of mind of a five star crash rating and safety features including autonomous emergency braking, smart cruise control, lane departure warning, brake assist, electronic stability control and even LED daytime running lamps. It definitely gets the full works when it comes to safe cruising!

  1. Warranty

Let’s not forget to add, as with all new Hyundai cars, you’ll receive the protection of a five year unlimited kilometre warranty.

The new Genesis Sedan also comes with the Hyundai iCare Inclusive Service Plan, which means you’ll receive free servicing for the first five years, or 75,000km, of ownership, as well as Hyundai’s complimentary Hyundai Care MapCare Plan with three years’ free satellite-navigation map updates and Hyundai’s 12-month Roadside Assist Program (again for free!).
